Sketches can be made in any drawing medium. The term is most often applied to graphic work executed in a dry medium such as silver point, graphite, pencil, charcoal or pastel.
Pencil Drawings. The common pencil (the word derives from the Latin 'peninsulas' meaning brush), used by draftsmen around the world, is the most immediate and sensitive of the drawing media, being as capable of producing a quick sketch or a finely worked drawing.
For Sketching I use Graphite Pencils i-e; HB, 2B, 4B, 6B & 9B. Sometimes I use Charcoal Stick for special assignments.
